Food and Beverage Workers 

Part-Time Bartender - $8.65 - $10.86

Seeking experienced bartenders to help with various functions at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center including hockey games and banquets. Must be knowledgeable about various drinks and speed of service is a plus.

Part-Time Line Cook/Kitchen Staff - $10.71-$13.67

Job Summary
The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center is looking for prep cooks, line cooks, and sous chefs to help with banquets, catering, and other events. The ideal candidate is able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare basic components of each dish
  • Memorize and utilize basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen
  • Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards
  • Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 6 months of restaurant and/or kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours- may be asked to work nights or weekends
  • High School Diploma desired but not required
  • Ability to stand and walk for long hours, frequently performing heavy lifting

Part-Time Custodial Maintenence Workers - $8.65-$11.97

Hourly, duties dependent on work areas assigned.

  • Set-up and tear-down of flooring stages, bleachers, portable walls, tables, chairs, etc.
  • May remove snow from walkways
  • Operates power equipment to trim grass, shrubbery, and trees
  • Edge sidewalks and flower beds
  • Clean pools and fountains
  • Move materials, equipment and supplies
  • Transplants trees, shrubs and flowers
  • Performs irrigation repairs and minor maintenance to mowing equipment buildings and structures.

Working mostly indoors, guest assistance and wayfinding, ticket taking, crowd management, Building Greeters, and Security.

Responsible for directing traffic into and out of the parking lots for events located at the Civic Center; standing in traffic is required. All clothing needed to stay warm and dry is your responsibility, other than reflective safety equipment which will be furnished.

Volunteer Groups

Help raise cash for your favorite nonprofit

As a means of sharing and giving back to the Black Hills Area, we invite volunteer organizations to raise funds for their favorite nonprofits by operating concession stands, running merchandise stands, and serving as event ushering groups. This is a great alternative to traditional fundraising for your organization, and provides a positive impact on the community.

  • All volunteers will be required to attend training
  • Volunteers must be 16 or older (must be 21 to sell alcohol)
